Ultrasound: Nancy, Ultrasound is excellent at viewing the spleen. CT also offers a good view, but carries the downside of radiation exposure. Due to the safety, doctors will often start with ultrasound, then reserve CT scan for those patients where they see an area of concern. Hope this helps!
