Rest: You rest it. If rest does not heal this then the physical therapist will have some exercises or other modalities to help.

A few options: Generally, strengthening the surrounding rotator cuff muscles can help. NSAIDs like ibuprofen, aleve, (naproxen) etc can be useful. Other times cortisone/steroid injections can be used, however be careful to not have more than one injection as the likelihood of rupture of tendon can go up. You may want to consider PRP or stem cell injections as options for healing, though are not covered by insurance.
