Dr. Cares for you: Knowing you have gestational Diabetes, the Dr should be following you closely and treating you for any issues. Be sure to keep regular appts with the OB/GYN Dr. and be compliant with their instructions especially with your diet. If you stay well and follow the Dr's care, your baby should be FINE! God Bless, congratulations.

Good control: Is the key to preventing side effects. You should discuss with your doctor or midwife the ideal range for your blood sugar and how you can keep it there. Good luck!
