Lets review your que: Your bone is still remodeling--I would wear tennis shoes or slip one. Cute sandals are also an option.

F/U with Dr.: Let the Ortho Dr. (or Podiatric surgeon) know, as the toe should be better by now. Did you go through Physical therapy and work through pain meds to decrease inflammation and any swelling etc.-All these things may be important, top work through a little pain, then slowly get back "on your feet again." Good luck.

Times a wasting.: Let's see. It has to be either pain, swelling, pain and swelling, stiffness(which cause irritation) or something similar. I would think that you would be able to wear some sort of shoe by now, especially if the toe was treated with a pin. You need to go back to the surgeon and have him explain as to why shoes are a problem. If not satisfied, obtain another opinion.
