Antibiotic: Urinary tract infections are caused by an infectious agent in the urinary system. This is usually a bacteria and usually is limited to the bladder (i.e. bladder infection). The most common symptoms are burning with urination and having to urinate frequently. Treatment requires antibiotics, such as bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). ciprofloxacin, even Keflex or ampicillin. See your doctor if this does not get better

Nitrofurantoin: I need to know if you are sexually active, do you use any contraceptive methods, is it possible that you are pregnant. I can start you on Nitrofurantoin 100mg every 6 hours for 5 days.
