Underlying cause?: Several potential reasons: 1) more time was needed for medicating, 2) an infection from a different microbe is now occurring, 3) the underlying cause of the bladder infection hasn't been addressed. 4) the source of the infection has not been controlled. See the doctor how prescribed you the medication, to re-evaluate the situation.
