Cold compression: Compression ,elevating the leg, and applying cold should stop the bleeding. Go to the emergency room if bleeding persists.

A real gusher.: After the cold application to the area and elevation, there will more than likely be trapped blood under the skin. This area can then be treated with warm compresses to promote the dissolution and clearing of the bruised area.
