Diabetes: if DM is not well controlled, could cause kidney to dump the protein in the urine, protein is toxic to the kidney, normal ppl have near zero protein in urine. As the amount of protein increases in the urine the level of protein (Albumin) would decrease because your liver cannot keep up. Get your Diabetes under control, also you might be a candidate for ACE/ARB treatment if your Creat allows that.
