Acholic stools: Acholic stools could represent a problem with your child's hepatobiliary system. this system aids in the digestion and absorption of certain types of food. Which may explain the diarrhea. Most of the time this represents a condition that does indeed need medical intervention. You should definitely see your primary care doctor as he may want to refer you to a specialist for further study.

Yes, if it continues: Has you son's diet changed lately? Occasionally kids will have substantial changes in their stool consistency and coloration related to 'binging' on certain foods. If your son gets back on routine diet and the problem clears it may not be a worry. If it continues, I agree with the need to work up the white, or 'chalky' stools for biliary disease. If pain, fever, or cramping would act quickly.
