Trending better?: If you know you have strep throat you are probably already on antibiotics. An over the counter cough medicine, like Delsym (dextromethorphan) would help the cough. Analgesics would help the aches, so I would give it a couple of days to see if you are trending better. If you are trending worse over the next couple or three days, I would go back to the doctor.
