Strep ??: Usually we worry when a person has a sore throat caused by a particular type of a bug called Strep Pyogenes or group A beta hemolytic streptococcus. Did your doc check for this subtype of strep? In addition, usually when someone is coughing that pretty much rules out strep throat. You were told you had flu. There is a 5 min test for Infl A and B. If + U can take good med within 72hrs of onset.
