A member asked:

A friend has had a rash under her arm for 8 days, the doctor has said it's measles but it's still itchy and is now weeping clear fluid, is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not measles: Measles is a systemic rash -it wouldn't be localized just under one arm. If it's itchy I wonder if it might be 'contact dermatitis' -an allergy to something? say a cream, lotion, deodorant? The fact that it's weeping clear fluid means the tissue (skin) is damaged from the rash. Not sure if there's any fever but u may want to apply antibiotic ointment -like bacitracin. I recc going back to the doc
