Please tell me if anxiety is the cause of hypertension?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stress may lead to: hypertension by constricting surface blood vessels as part of the fight/flight response. If this emergency response is set off too often or stays on too long, blood pressure may become persistently elevated. Skin temperature biofeedback is an effective treatment. Check www.Bcia.Org & www.Aapb.Org for biofeedback professionals & more information. But first, check with your MD for other causes.
