Relatively new: Daytrana is a patch that delivers methylphenidate (mph) (ritalin) through the skin in a controlled fashion. It starts working about 30-40 minutes after you put it on and stops about 2 hours after you take it off. It is mph, so side effects are the same, but one can control the duration of action. Some develop irritation from the patch. A potentially good choice for older adolescents & adults.
