Chronic pancreatitis: Chronic pancreatitis can cause a lot of pain and removal of the pancrease (pancrelipase) might be the only thing that can be done. After removal of the pancrease (pancrelipase), your son will be insulin dependent diabetic, requiring insulin therapy daily. Preparing for insulin injection and work on couting carbs ahead time would be extremely helpful
