Is there a cure for type 2 diabetes?

No: There is no cure for diabetes 2 yet. There are a few treatment options though, including some advanced procedures. The most widely used & successful treatment is medications and/or insulin. However, procedures like pancreas transplant and stem cell therapy may be used in very select cases. The best way to avoid diabetic complications is strict diet & exercise - decrease blood sugar & pressure.

Control, but no cure: Even patients who get normal sugars after weight loss, like bariatric surgery patients, are at risk for recurrent elevations of sugar after time, if eat wrong, gain weight.

There is no cure: only control (diet, exercise, weight loss, medications, bariatric surgery) but none remove the genes that put one at risk in first place!!
