Hard to say...: Your orthodontist has the luxury of examining you and evaluating your dentition... get a second opinion from another LOCAL orthodontist who can also see your teeth and profile. Who knows, over the internet, sight unseen, if the extractions will affect your face negatively ?

Opposite: If you don't have room for a full compliment of permanent teeth, expanding your teeth beyond their bone support will make your face look full, pouty, and may make it difficult to close your lips together. Over expansion can also damage the bones and gum tissues around the teeth. No Dentist likes to call for extractions, but sometimes it's mandatory.
