Yes: Many people eat gluten and have no problems with it. It is important to realize that many people who are not allergic to gluten and don't have celiac disease are what we call gluten intolerant. This is often because foods rich in gluten also have lots of carbohydrates in them and people feel better when they don't eat excessive carbohydrates.
