A member asked:

What do you suggest if my little boy of six years old usually wakes up with blood running from his nose. what is responsible for this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nosebleeds: Most common reasons are picking nose and picking nose. However, if you really never see him doing this, consider irritation from allergies and/or sinus problems. If any other signs of easy bleeding or bruising, or it's heavy or prolonged, must check blood tests for platelets, Hgb and clotting. Have your pediatrician or an ENT doctor look up there and see what looks like is going on!
