May be normal: Sinusitis is mostly caused by viruses. There is difficulty diagnosing bacterial sinusitis by symptoms alone but if symptoms are present >10 days, fever >102 with pus for first 3-4 days of symptoms or worsening of symptoms following viral infection - you may have a bacterial infection. Be careful to use nasacort (triamcinolone) appropriately as the irritation may also cause bleeding.
