Different causes: High cholesterol, high blood pressure and high glucose have deadly combined effects on the body however represent different mechanisms of disease. While we see patients who have all three, a person could certainly have just one of these. A very high cholesterol could be "familial" or inherited and in any case it alone can cause serious medical complications. Be sure to follow up with your doc.
