Why would you?: There is not much evidence-based support for the use of L-arginine as a supplement. It has been subjected to some small clinical trials, and would likely have some biological activity, but at this point I do not see strong evidence for its routine use in human healthcare. Most diets are plenty rich in l-arginine, and the safety of taking this supplement over the long-term has not been established
