Many addictions: Any substance or activity that results in pleasure or the relief of a symptom may become an addiction. About a sixth of the population is prone to this consequence. Both substances are opioids(morpine-like drugs) that can cause death by overdosing, drowsiness, nausea, constipation and endocrine disturbances with chronic use. Death by overdosing is unusual in long-time rx users.
