They commonly cause constipation, sedation, breathing difficulty (even respiratory failure in overdoses) itchiness, nausea, and even headaches. If you are having any of these side effects, discuss with your prescriber. If you are concerned you are having an allergic reaction, with things such as hives or oral swelling, go to the er.
