Different Molecules: They are different molecules totally. Generally speaking oxycodone seems to be a more potent opioid than hydrocodone and therefore stronger.

Molecular structure: Very little difference between the two. Some people metabolize hydrocodone more efficiently than oxycodone so some people may say one is better than the other but they both work exactly the same if metabolized properly.
