A member asked:

What do you suggest if my husband (41 yrs) has sr.triglycerides 210 and vldl 42 . what signs does this reading show n how 2 deal abou?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low fat: He should adhere to a low fat diet, attempt weight loss if overweight, avoid XS alcohol, and, if he has diabetes, improve his sugar control. Recheck the lipids in 4 weeks and be sure he hasn't had a fatty meal in the 24 hours preceding and that he fasts for 8 hours before the test.
