Depends on site: Lympangiomas which are benign lesions occur in many different places and sizes which defines treatment. Lymphatic malformation is the new terminology for what was formerly called “lymphangioma.” Some of the lesions are composed of multiple, grouped, small macroscopic vesicles filled with clear or serosanguineous fluid. Others appear as large soft subcutaneous tumors which can distort facial features . Bacterial infection may occur. The lymphangioma may occur as an isolated solitary lesion, or cover large areas. They are best handled by excision if feasible, or treated with sclerotherapy.
