A member asked:

Can you tell me in a shock patient, will they have protective reflexes and will they be posturing or seizing?

Depends: Different causes of shock can lead to more deteriorated states. Initially, will have protective reflexes and should not be posturing. Due to decreased blood supply to brain there is possibility of seizures. With initial shock, there is low BP, elevated HR, decreased urine, abnormal mental state, and a metabolic acidosis. Again, if not corrected, can deteriorate resulting in further manifestations
