Lots of options: Sometimes Neurontin or Lyrica (pregabalin) can help with this pain. If the amputation was recent, these symptoms should resolve without further treatment but the above meds can help while you are waiting for things to get better.

Time: Shock like pain is usually nerve related. It calms down with time and for some goes away completely. If it is bothersome medications to treat nerve related pain are usually successful in treating the pain. Some anti-seizure medicines are commonly used (not because this had to do with seizures but because they help this type of pain).
