Serious condition: "Trilateral retinoblastoma" is a term that refers to having a malignant eye tumor (retinoblastoma, RB) in both eyes and a pinealoblastoma, a malignant tumor of the pineal gland in the brain. It occurs almost exclusively in children with the inherited form of RB. Hopefully the child is being treated at a children's cancer center with doctors who are skilled at treating these difficult cases.
