A member asked:

What do you suggest if my dr prescribed 50 mg of losartan and 25 mg of hctz (hydrochlorothiazide). is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BP medications: Your mother's doctor has diagnosed her with hypertension and started her on losartan, which is a BP medicine along with HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) that is a diuretic. HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) also lowers BP. I suggest that nothing needs to be done, as this is a normal way to treat high BP.
