A member asked:

Normal spacing on xray for the throsac spine and chest ct normal rule out hearniated disc in middle back? i have pain in between shoulders.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible herniation: An xray of the thoracic spine can be perfectly normal and a disc herniation may still be present. Similarly, a CT may be normal. An MRI is much more sensitive than either modality and can reveal a whole range of pathology, including herniated discs , not evident on the other exams. You should undergo further evaluation if you continue to have symptoms.
