Depends?: If the herniated disc is resulting in signficant foraminal stenosis (pinching nerve roots) then yes, that is normal. Please follow up with your doctor.

It can be: Rita, some tingling can indicate nerve irritation. This can be normal with a herniated disc. If you experience any weakness in the arms or legs or incontinence of urine or stool, please seek immediate medical attention.
