A member asked:

If someone has fibromyalgia and they have tender/painful pressure points on their back, will they enjoy back massages or will it hurt?

Depends: Sometimes a massage will be painful especially if the person is having a flare up because there will be several areas on their back that are tender to the touch. However the pain may improve after the massage therapy is complete just as exercise is difficult and painful for a person with fibromyalgia while they are doing it but they feel better after and overall better. Warm water therapy helps.
