Wisdom Tooth Ext: It could be exposed bone (or a tooth chip). Have your dentist take a look at. It might not require further treatment, or........a bone or tooth chip could be removed easily at this time, or........if bone is exposed, it might cover over with gum tissue in time. Your dentist will advise you and know what to do.

Could be bone: Most wisdom teeth are multi-rooted and so it is possible you feel the piece of bone that would normally be between those roots. Eventually, some of the bone will be resorbed and gum tissue grow over the extraction site. Very often I warn patients to this as a possibility after the surgery, so they are surprised. If you are concerned, see your surgeon.

Don't panic: It is a normal healing process. After any extraction blood clot is the matrix for the construction of the new bone and gum that will fill in the space left by the extracted tooth. The white color is fibrin and/or a coagulated blood clot. The bone corners are normal after a tooth extraction, however, important is not to have the bone completely exposed. Be patient.
