Acute EBV : Acute EBV as a cause of mononucleosis could cause all of these symptoms. the antibody studies are consistent with this. There is no specific for acute EBV infection. Symptomatic treatment is indicated. Of note, there is no documented entity of chronic mononucleosis. If symptoms persist another cause should be looked for.
