Probably not.: Lyrica (pregabalin) tends to be better tolerated than Neurontin. If you have concerns, contact your prescribing physician.

No: They are chemically similar, so the side effects are similar, though Lyrica (pregabalin) usually has less side effects. However, Lyrica (pregabalin) is not yet available in generic, so it is more expensive. Good luck! Thanks for seeking me out on HealthTap!

Not usually: If the dose is equivalent, there should be no difference in tolerability. In a few cases, edema in the lower legs may develop with Lyrica (pregabalin) even if it didn't occur with Gabapentin. Good luck

Typically, Lyrica causes less drowsiness, and less dizziness, but equivalent weight gain and perhaps more common ankle swelling. The pain relief is far better as Neurontin efficacy is dose-limited and Lyrica is NOT. Also, Lyrica can be taken twice daily, but Neurontin needs thrice daily dosing.
