Secretions: He probably has chronic bronchitis and if the secretions are discolored, a course of antibiotics may help reduce or clear up his profuse secretions. It is important that the secretions remain loose as he must raise them in order to avoid serious lung infections. Inhalers containing corticosteroids will reduce some of the secretions. Smoking and other pollution must be avoided. He needs follow-up.
