What could cause a pre-existing, flat, skin-colored mole on my cheek to get raised & darker after spending time outside (which i never do) last week?

Moles can get raised: but should not necessarily turn darker. Sun exposure can darken a mole, but it should be looked at if it went from flat and flesh colored to raised and dark. Make appointment with dermatologist for probable biopsy to be sure
