Could be: Tendonitis, could be a stress fracture, I suggest you visit a foot doc for xrays

FRACTURE: If you can say the pain is directly over the shaft, it very well could be a fracture. Have you had an injury recently, especially an ankle sprain? Swelling? Painful to put weight on the foot? X-rays could confirm. Shaft fractures heal more slowly than other fractures.
