NSAID treat symptoms: If darwinian means natural selection, that would be no treatment. All treatments have risks and should be weighed against benefits. Nsaids only treat symptoms, but don't cure arthritis, protect joints, prophylax anything. Risks include slow healing of bone/soft tissue by blunting inflammation that is part of healing, kidney/liver toxicity, ulcers, rashes, anticoagulation to increase bleeding, etc.
