Sensitive root canal: Depends on when the root canal was completed and how it was restored. If it was recently, it may take some time for the infection to fully heal. If the root canal was done some time ago, it may be re-infected, or the tooth may be fractured. In any case, you should call your dentist and have it examined.

Yes: It is completely normal to have some tooth sensitivity after a root canal, since the nerve connection was just cut off between that tooth and the jaw...so the nerve needs some time to heal.

Normal: Your post did not state how long ago your root canal treatment was completed, but post treatment sensitivity is normal.

Very: The tooth root is supported by the ligament which is between the root and the bone. (think of your index finger in a glove and your other hand fist wrapped around it) The ligament is alive and provides sensory feedback to the body. Pressure applied to the tooth activates the ligament and you feel it. The tooth nerve used to go through the ligament to get in the tooth, and this area may be healing.

Very common: There still are tissues and nerves around the tooth (periapical area), so it will respond to pressure and touch. Any additional questions or concerns should be discussed with your dentist.
