A member asked:

Wt 210, ht 5ft, smoker. bp before stress test at 130/90, went as high as 190/110. reached level 5, test terminated due to fatigue. normal?

Not normal: The top number of 190 does not worry me as much as the resting diastolic of 90 and the increase to 110. That would indicate high blood pressure, or hypertension. That should be evaluated by a physician

Generally not good.: Overweight. Prehypertension with a large hypertensive response on the stress test. Stopped because of fatigue in a young woman who should have otherwise been able to complete a Bruce protocol test more successfully. You should lose weight and stop smoking and exercise if you don't.
