Pill esophagitis: Doxycline can cause an esophagitis which is inflammation of the esophagus. This is usually self limited, and can be relieved by medications prescribed by your doctor. However I would make an appointment to see your physician to make sure there are no more serious problems which your physician can assist you with a thorough history and physical examination.
