Very unlikely: With that description, the likelihood of melanoma is very, very low.

Possible: I feel that if a mole appears irregular and suspicious it should be biopsied. Then a diagnosis can be made by a pathologist. Melanoma that is detected in its earliest stages is highly treatable.
