Cardura or flomax (tamsulosin) - which works better and why?

Alpha-blockers: Both are alpha-blockers used to relax the smooth muscle of the prostate and bladder neck resulting in improved urinary flow (can be used in both men and women). Both are available in generic form. Each can result in a decrease in bp: Flomax (tamsulosin), however, is intended to be more selective for alpha-1a type receptors and is not intended for use as an anti-hypertensive agent.
