A member asked:

Coud there be another treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (bph) besides doxazosin and flomax (tamsulosin)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BPH: Treatments for BPH fall into two categories; medical and surgical. Medical therapy includes Alpha blocker medications to improve urine flow and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors to shrink the gland. The surgical options include thermal or laser destruction of prostatic tissue or transurthral resection of prostaic tissue (turp). The "best" treatment is a very individual thing.
