Nausea post-op: Complex question. The type/location of the surgery, the amnt of narcotics used, the use of nitrous oxide all play a role. You need to get a copy of your intra-op anesthesia records and then review them with an anesthesiologist prior to further surgery. I suggest a pre-op scopolamine patch, iv zofran/decadron intraop, +/-TIVA propofol intraop,NO nitrous, minimize narcs, droperidol rescue post-op.

You might ask: Your anesthesiologist to use propofol, it has antiemetic effects, nitrous oxide can cause nausea as do narcotics. There's always regional anesthesia available for some surgeries.
