Depends on cause: with gallstones, it can resolve in days. with viral hepatitis, in weeks (with treatment). DILI (drug induce liver injury) can take up to 6 months to recover fully.

What are normal ALT liver enzyme levels? Is ALT 54 high? Elevated levels due to pregnancy or having a cold maybe? (no drugs were taken for cold).
