Many simple upper airway viruses will not trigger changes in your liver enzymes. However, gut viruses or flu like illnesses often do. If you are sure it is a simple URI no delay would be needed. If you are not sure, wait 2 weeks and do it later.

In six weeks, the diseases that would cause elevated liver enzymes like viral hepatitis type AB, or C would be easily diagnosed with blood test. Also a history of medication’s alcohol exposure to chemicals, supplements, that can harm the liver and family history to see if liver disease runs in your family. Further testing like ultrasound and referral to a G.I. doctor would be beneficial
